Short-term Rental Regulations

As per the Monroe Fire Department, the following applies for ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜-๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—บ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜€:

When a Vacation Rental inspection is requested, please have the following documents on site for the inspection:

- DBPR license

- County business tax receipt

- County planning permit or application (if applicable)


The following self-checklist may be used to prepare for the inspection:

- Vacation Rental Fire and Life Safety Annual Inspection Checklist

- Other Inspection Documents


Please note that beginning October 1, 2021, the following fees will apply to this type of inspection:

- 1 Bedroom Inspection fee: $100

- 2-3 Bedroom Inspection fee: $200

- 4+ Bedroom Inspection fee: $300


Re-inspection fees will be applied after the third inspection: Base + $50
