Winter Safety: Prevent Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Writer's picture: Marc WinterMarc Winter

As winter sets in, staying warm becomes a priority. However, it's crucial to be aware of carbon monoxide (CO) dangers. CO is a colorless, odorless gas produced by burning fuel. To prevent CO poisoning, install CO detectors in your home and check them regularly. Ensure all heaters and fuel-burning appliances are well-ventilated and maintained. Never use generators or grills indoors.

If you suspect CO exposure, evacuate immediately and call emergency services. Symptoms include headaches, dizziness, and nausea. By following these precautions, you can enjoy a safe and cozy winter season.
